International Scholars Program

The International Scholars Program at the University of Florida encourages students to step outside their comfort zones and explore diverse perspectives on the world. During my sophomore year, I discovered this organization at a study abroad fair and decided to join, eager to broaden my understanding. Since then, I have attended numerous culturally enriching events on campus that have opened my eyes to the beauty and diversity of God’s creations.

I knew that joining ISP would help me broaden my skill set, but I wasn’t entirely sure how or what I would gain from it. Looking back on my decision to join as a sophomore, I realize it was exactly what I needed to grow—not just academically, but personally. This journey has played a crucial role in shaping me into the woman I aspire to be. Here are some of the most meaningful lessons I’ve learned.

Skills I Learned Along the Way

As I mentioned earlier, one of the requirements of ISP is to attend globally immersive events on campus and make a genuine effort to embrace new ideas and perspectives. Throughout my time in the program, several events have stood out as particularly impactful. Here are some that have shaped my understanding the most.

Global Experiences

After four incredible years at the University of Florida in the International Scholars Program, here are my final thoughts.
